287 runs and last over result!
Maidenhead Bray and Slough supporters were treated to a tense thrilling game of cricket. Slough won the toss and decided to bowl. Henry and Toby got the team off to a great start. Henry retired on 28 with the score on 56 after 7 overs. Alfie continued scoring runs before we lost our first wicket, Toby for 5 in the 9th over. Jeevan joined Alfie pushing the score to 95 after 11 overs before Alfie fell for 19 and 3 overs later Jeevan fell for 13. We lost another 4 wickets for a single run off the bat but thanks to Jame's 7 and Mahir's 3 we finished with 146.
The boys were confident in defending this total. All they had to do was to bowl less extras than Slough's 76. This confident was quickly dented when Slough's opener hit a very quick 29 and retired. We did get a brilliant runout to remove Slough's other dangerous opener.
Slough's runs off the bat dried up but we continued to bowl extras meaning Slough was up with the run rate. A wicket from Mahir, two from James and two from Flex ensured Slough required 13 off the last over. Henry started the last over with a no ball but followed with 5 more runs giving U11 Bucks a win by 5 runs.Well done boys on your first league win of 2013. Many thanks to Mike for umpiring, Manish for scoring and all parents for their positive support.
