MBCC Under13's Julian Cup V's Binfield Semi Final 18/06/2007 (Away)
With the sun coming out in time for the Julian Cup Semi-final a good game of cricket was played with some powerful hitting from both sides.
Put into bat first Maidenhead & Bray U13's started off with a good solid platform from LD Basson and William O Shea(Retired Julian Cup rules). Scores of 24 and 22 respectively set it up nicely for Man of the Match Alex Hess to come in and score 40 runs with some big hitting.
Good fielding by Binfield who cut off many balls destined for the boundary kept them in the game.
Maidenhead & Bray finished on 139 for 6 wickets with Tom Noakes supporting Alex Hess with a well hit 23 at the end of their innings.
Binfield started their innings cautiously with some tight bowling from the Bray opening pair, Alkesh Vaja and Matt Balmer.
Michael Canty came to the wicket with the Binfield innings starting to fall behind the required run rate and started to up their run rate. With a powerful 41(Retired Julian Cup rules) he got Binfield into a good position with some big sixes. Unfortunately Binfield were unable to continue the run rate and finished on 98 for 6 after their 16 overs.
Onto the Final for the Maidenhead & Bray U13's!
