MBCC Under 13's Hurricanes Versus Binfield 1/06/2008

Maidenhead & Bray U13's Hurricanes continued their excellent form in the Berkshire League this season when they defeated Binfield by 6 wickets on Sunday to record their 4th consecutive win.

On winning the toss Bray opted to bowl first and excellent performances from Karan Soni (4 overs, 1 wicket for 6 runs) and Jamie Odell (3 overs, 2 wickets for 1 run) saw Binfield restricted to 22-3 at the half way point of their innings. A combination of loose bowling and some hard hitting from the lower order batsmen saw Binfield recover somewhat to finish on 65-8 after their allotted 20 overs.

In reply the Bray innings got off to a sticky start as well largely due to some poor running between the wickets which saw the team subside to 16-3 after 6 overs. Any thoughts of a shock defeat for Bray were soon ended by Monty Bampfield who continued his excellent form so far this season by hitting a rapid 30 (retired) which featured 6 boundaries. With Sachin Moudgil (11 not out) also batting well at the end Bray ended up cruising to victory by 6 wickets with a full 7 overs to spare.
