MBCC Under 11's Hurricanes Versus Finchampstead Falcons 26/05/2008

Finchampstead were Berkshire U11 champions last year and so this was always going to be a tough match.Finchampstead batted first and their two county openers both retired at 25 giving Finch a very strong platform from which they compiled a total of 118-2. Despite being under pressure, the M&B bowlers and fielders stuck to their task and the final total was less than appeared likely at ten overs.M&B were always under pressure chasing such a total but the batting was excellent with Tom Harrison 33 Not Out and Liam Cook 25 Not Out batting particularly well. The final score of 98-8 meant the boys earned maximum batting points but lost the game by 20 runs. This was a very creditable performance against a very strong Finchampstead side and the boys should be proud of their efforts
