MBCC Under 11's Hurricanes Versus Emnbrook 25/06/2008
The match against Emmbrook was another outstanding game of cricket. Emmbrook batted first and scored a very challenging target of 137-4. This was probably 20 runs more than they should have scored because our ground fielding was not great. The highlight of the bowling was Ben Page taking his first wicket in his first game as an U11.At the interval, the boy's attitude was very encouraging, they all said that if Emmbrook can score 137 then so can we, and how close they came. The batting throughout the M&B innings was excellent. The boys ran the singles and hit the bad balls for four and throughout the innnings they were scoring at the required rate. Sam Hooper 24 and Liam Cook 25 retired put on 62 for the second wicket and the run rate was kept up by Cameron Upton 15 Not Out and Talha Sabir. The game entered the final over with 11 needed and with some scrambled singles and a boundary, it came down that we needed a four to win off of the last ball. Unfortunately we were unable to manage the boundary and so lost by four runs but this was a fantastic game of cricket enjoyed by everyone.
