MBBC Under13's V's Wokingham 12/06/2007

On a rare sunny evening in Bray, Maidenhead & Bray U13 Hurricanes were put into bat by Wokingham Golden Oaks U13.

Opener LD Basson(32 retired) and Alkesh Vaja(31 retired) put together a good partnership for 52 runs off the first 10 overs for the loss of an early wicket.

Once these 2 batsmen retired the Bray batsmen, with Simon Wykes(21 NO), continuing increasing the run rate until the end of the innings when the Hurricanes ended on 135 for 4 wickets.

Wokingham started their innings well and were well up with the run rate till the 10th over due to some wayward bowling from the Hurricanes bowlers. R Ingham hit a very good 23 runs to steady the Wokingham innings.

Sam Patuzzo(2 for 8 runs in 2 overs) pulled things back for the Hurricanes with solid support from Tom Noakes(0-3 in 2 overs), and then Simon Wykes(2 for 3 runs in 3 overs) and Alkesh Vaja(3 for 6 in 3 overs) finishing off the Wokingham innings for 75 runs off the second last ball.

That is now 4 wins out of 4 for the Hurricanes and 1 to play.
