MBBC Under13's V's Windsor 08/06/2007

In a nailbiting finish at Maidenhead & Bray, the Maidenhead & Bray U13 Hurricanes secured their third victory in a row off the second last ball of the innings to keep their 100% win record intact.

Windsor Lions were sent into bat but wayward bowling by the Bray opening bowlers enabled Windsor to get off to a brisk start. Opener Bradley Rylance and Rhys Bryant made useful contributions before a good catch at square leg ended Rylance's innings.

Bray chipped away with wickets but in the closing overs Windsor pushed the run rate up and posted a respectable 96 for 6 wickets.  Matt Balmer(3 overs, 1 for 9), Cameron M'Crystal(3 overs, 0 for 5) and Alex Hess(1 over, 1 for 1) bowled very economically to pin Windsor down in the middle of their innings.

Bray started their innings well but good tight bowling and very good fielding by the Windsor Lions was rewarded with wickets. Jack Barton bowled very well to restrict the Bray batsmen.

Bray opening bat Brad Upton, made 20 runs to steady the innings and keep up with the required run rate. With Bray requiring 10 runs off the final 2 overs, Alkesh Vaja and Avi Gossain played sensibly with Gossain hitting the winning runs off the second last ball.
