MBBC Under13's V's Hurst 08/05/2007
Batting first Maidenhead & Bray U13 Hurricanes made 145 for 5 against a young but very disciplined Hurst bowling attack on a wicket that was keeping low. Alex Hess retired on 30 not out and skipper Tom Noakes leading from the front, also retired on 32, to set up a good platform. Brad Upton made a brisk 19 and Avi Gossain 18 not out.
Hurst always struggled to score and maintain wickets due to good bowling, particularly the spinners in the middle overs. Wickets fell regularly and good fielding resulted in a few run outs. Also catches taken meant the Hurricanes were in control of the game.
Well done to some of the boys playing their first U13 game, notably Luke Barratt and Daniel Hamed who returned some good bowling figures. LD Basson, who was not meant to play, kept wicket and did a sterling job behind the stumps.
