Maidenhead & Bray got their Berkshire League campaign for this season off to an impressive start when they cruised to a 7 wicket victory against Windsor.

Windsor won the toss and opted to bat first. Their innings got off to a solid start and reached 20 before Jamie Odell cleaned bowled the opener.

MBCC Under 13's V's Slough (Home) 19/06/09

The Match to be played on Fri 19 June 2009

Maidenhead & Bray U13's achieved probably their most satisfying result of the season so far when they defeated their local rivals Slough by 25 runs in their Berkshire League encounter on Monday evening.

Bray won the toss and opted to bat first. This was not looking to be a very sensible decision after 5 overs with the score at 26-4 as Slough's opening pair of Haider-Ali Bhatti and Virain Kanwar claimed the wickets of Savy Joshi (0), Sachin Moudgil (12), Alex Hess (0) and Brett Herron (12). This left Jamie Odell (19) and Vishal Gossain (32 Retired) to rebuild the innings which they did during an excellent partnership of 60 in 9 overs. With Odell playing the anchor role, Gossain attacked the bowling in excellent style being particularly severe on the Slough spinners in the course of an innings which saw him strike 7 boundaries. Although both batsmen departed within 10 runs of each other, Gossain retiring and Odell caught out close to the boundary, Tom Harrison maintained the momentum of the innings with an excellent unbeaten 24 seeing Bray through to a total of 120 for 6 after their allotted 20 overs.
