Chasing 254 to win the Bray side eased passed the total with an over to spare with Will Ballantyne finishing the game off with a 6 followed by a 4.

The 2008 season is nearly upon us and I want to share with you news of what has been going on in the closed season and what there is to look forward to throughout the summer.

This is the first social event of the year and an important one to get the club together. We have set our sights high on this season being one of the most successful in the clubs long history (founded in 1798 if you didn't know)! If we going to achieve this then we need to be a club both on and off the field and support for our social nights during the season is an essential part of a thriving club.

With indoor nets now well under way and the first signs of Spring upon us our thoughts have already turned to the prospect of another exciting season of Colts Cricket.

The season starts on Sunday 20th April with a "Colts Day" and once again we will be providing coaching for all age groups with our ECB Qualified coaches throught the Summer and we have a number of competittive matches where we are looking to improve on our considerable sucess of last year.

The cost of the sessions has been reduced from £40 last year to £35 this year, for all 14 sessions, of £4 on the door, that's a saving of £21 if you pay in advance, what a bargain!

I hope you had a good break over Christmas and the New Year! If you don't know me I am the new Captain of Cricket for 2008.

Following a very successful year for the club in 2007 we have targeted an even better one for 2008. The club's ambition is to have all four sides in the Top 4 Thames Valley divisions in 4 years! To achieve this we will need to up our game as a club and as individuals. We hope to attract some new players along the way but we have a fantastic nucleus with the current players we have got.

The Colts sessions will be from 11.00am and 12.30pm, and the Seniors sessions from 12.30pm until 2.00pm.

The cost are £4.00 a session or £35 for all 12.

At present there is a registration issue taking place between Burnham C C and the Home Counties Premier League which will effect the league Burnham participate in next season.

John Goodman the T.V.L Fixture Secretary does not anticipate the fixtures will be with the clubs until after Christmas probably well into January.However; the restructuring of the league has been done, resulting in 9 Divisions. When I receive more information regarding the divisions and likely opponents each team will face next season I will post them.

Commiserations first, the following boys did not make the cut, please continue to try hard and maybe better luck next year, they actually don't know what they're missing!

And as the mellow mists gather I thought a few words (quite a few actually ) appropriate to round up the season and bring you all fully up to date following the recent well attended Senior awards evening and the slightly less well attended Annual General Meeting (um..odd that!).

The season was without doubt the club’s most successful on and off the field for many years.

Here’s why.

The Seconds struggling at 40 for 4 against Caversham and Redingeansians relied on the experience of Saquib Quershi 69 n.o. to hold the innings together plus a quick fire 40 from Jangier Alam to take the total up to 226 for 8.Then a masterly bowling performance from Mat Armstrong 5 for 42 secured the game and the 25 points for the Bray side.

We will be having burgers and sausages from the BBQ, so why not come alone and celebrate the success of the season, hopefully it will be a warm night.

Two tremendous success stories to report:

(1) From last Friday's club party we made approx. £3500 (including bar-takings).
