Winter Training
Dear All
I hope you had a good break over Christmas and the New Year! If you don't know me I am the new Captain of Cricket for 2008.
Following a very successful year for the club in 2007 we have targeted an even better one for 2008. The club's ambition is to have all four sides in the Top 4 Thames Valley divisions in 4 years! To achieve this we will need to up our game as a club and as individuals. We hope to attract some new players along the way but we have a fantastic nucleus with the current players we have got.
So we all have a part to play and the first thing to note is that Winter Training starts next week!
St Pirans School on 19th January and runs until 26th April ( with the exception of 15th March).Further information from The Captain of Cricket and the The Colts Manager will be published shortly. The cost are £4.00 a session or £35 for all 12.
The Colts sessions will be from 11.00am and 12.30pm, and the Seniors sessions from 12.30pm until 2.00pm.
It is an ideal time to get some practice early on and iron out some of the problem areas you have as individuals before the season starts. It is also worth noting that initial selection for the first few games will be based on attendance at these nets.
Selection during the season will take into account a number of things. We will be keen to get balanced sides out for all four teams. We want to win matches on all four fronts so individual performance will be very important, so attendance of nets during the season will also be taken into account. However the club needs to keep itself on firm financial footing and therefore membership and match subs being paid up will be paramount to any selection.
This should be one of the most exciting years for M&B CC in recent times, so lets get to nets, lets regain the team spirit we had last season and start in good shape.
Please keep you ears open for new players as all will be welcome to nets.
